The House/Hotel

The Café Monet not only offers Italian coffee specialties, lovingly handmade cakes and tarts made in-house and ice cream creations, but also a diverse, changing range of Mediterranean dishes a la carte, including those made from regional products. In addition to his passion for painting, the impressionist painter Claude Monet also had a penchant for good food. In Giverny, a suburb of Paris, flowers as well as herbs and vegetables grew in his garden, which were tastefully prepared in the in-house kitchen. Claude Monet was a gourmet, so home-caught pike was prepared in his kitchen or pheasant was prepared after returning from hunting. Porcini mushroom dishes, scrambled eggs with black truffles were served and the company enjoyed the fine Veuve Clicquot champagne from the carafe. You could also feel the attention to detail in the table setting and the decorations. The beautiful garden at the house was a source of inspiration for his paintings. This kind of philosophy of life

corresponded to the ideas that we, Claudia and Thomas Jung, have of an artists' inn. We focus intensively on painting, garden design and good cuisine and would like to let you share in our creations.
